You'll find here details of all our education programmes.

Our main programme is our award-winning day visit for Primary Schools Learning at the Lock held in our purpose built Education Centre by the side of the Grand Union Canal in Rickmansworth. Learning at the Lock and the Batchworth Lock Education Centre was also awarded the Learning outside the Classroom Quality Badge at the end of 2020.

We also offer Heritage Education visits for adults which can be tailored to specific needs of the group.

We also can come to your venue and provide speakers to talk on a number of different subjects related the heritage of the canal and historic boats.

Our education programmes are led by our Education Programmes Manager, who led a full career in teaching and was head of history at a local secondary school. Our programmes are designed and delivered by him supported by our dedicated team of volunteers.
