Education Introduction

Learning at the Lock

Our flagship education programme for key stages one and two, "Learning at the Lock" includes activities and such as working locks, canal trips and inside knowledge of life in canals commercial heyday.

More than 1000 children take part every year in the programme held at Batchworth Mill in Rickmansworth, once part of the John Dickinson paper making empire – but now owned by Veolia Water.

We welcome school visits each year to a day of fun, history and hands - on learning!
