Lock Centre reopening

Rickmansworth Waterways Trust re-opening –  Update 30th November 2020

The Rickmansworth Waterways Trust is delighted to announce (once again) a re-opening of our operations.

The Lock Centre will be open from Thursday 3rd December from about 1000am each day, staffed by our wonderful volunteers. 

NOTE: As of Friday 24th July please ensure that when visiting the lock centre you wear a face covering when in the shop unless exempt.

We sell a range of quality canal goods, ice creams, cold drinks, maps and books and Christmas Cards  and will be delighted to see you on your visit to Batchworth Lock.

Our ferry trip service will also be available and can be booked by phoning 01923 778382.

The trips will be running at the following times.

1015am (by prior arrangement), 11am, 1145am, 1230pm, 1.30pm, 2,15pm, 2.45pm and by prior arrangement 3.30pm.

Please note: From Monday 14th September 2020 in line with Government regulation single family & social bubble groups only up to a maximum of 6 persons.

When booking we will require the name of the person booking, the number of passengers and a contact phone number. 

Longer (Hour +) Charters can also be booked by contacting our Charter Manager at canalcentre@rwt.org.uk

NOTE: If you do not turn up for your allocated timed trip, we reserve the right to run the service with other members of the public and no guarentee can be made that another slot will be available for you)
